The winters in Silvassa and Medchal was colder than the winters experienced in Chennai. The cold in Medchal is harsher than that of Silvassa,being farther away from the sea shore and at an elevation of five hundred meters above Mean Sea Level.in Silvassa,the sea breeze plays a role in keeping the temperature warmer,while in Medchal, there's no sea breeze.the elevation of five hundred meters above Mean Sea Level also ensures that the temperature is colder. The geographical fact that the temperature decreases one degree as you go up every 165 metres from the mean sea level.even though Silvassa is around thousand kilometres north of Medchal,it is less cold than Medchal,due to it's nearness to the Arabian Ocean,forty kilometres away.
